How many times have you thought to yourself “I can’t wait ’till I retire, so I don’t have to work any more!”.  Well my friend, there’s hope!  I just finished reading The 4 Hour Workweek by Timothy Ferriss and let me be first to tell you that this man has got it SPOT ON!!  Now don’t get my wrong, I’m by no means a book critic, but I can tell you that the ideas in The 4 Hour Workweek seem like sure fire ways to automate your work, and put it in autopilot.  You spend your time doing the things you love, and let the automation you’ve created take care of your income.

The 4 Hour Workweek is divided into 4 sections (or steps);

Step I: D is for Definition

Step II: E is for Elimination

Step III: A is for Automation

Step IV: L is for Liberation

Each step goes into great detail on how to set yourself up to free yourself from the everyday grind, and automate almost everything.  Simple tasks are replaced by out sourced Virtual Assistants (VA’s) that run in the range of $4 – $10/hr from India.  He goes on to give examples of how  many little tasks can be done by these outsourced VA’s so they can free up time for you.  They do the work for a fraction of the price, and free up valuable time for you to enjoy as you please.

Timothy Ferriss, the author of The 4 Hour Workweek explains how with all the free time you create for yourself, it’s time to start taking “mini retirements”.  Gone are the days of the 2 week vacations, where 1o cities are crammed into 14 days, where you’re physically and emotionally drained even more AFTER the ‘vacation’ then before you left.

Instead, Ferriss insists on taking 4 to 6 month  “mini retirements” that are intended to do what you’ve always wanted to do.  Weather it’s taking samba lessons in Buenos Aires, following your favorite football (soccer) team in England, skiing in the Swiss Alps, or going on a safari in the Serengeti.  Basically all you need is 4 hours a week, to go through, only the important emails (which he explains how you are sent ONLY important emails), and make the necessary contacts to keep tabs on how your business is doing.

All in all, it’s a very interesting book with plenty of excellent ideas.  Some of the ideas may seem a little far fetched, but some are definitely a great way to free up time for yourself and/or your family and earn extra (passive) income at the same time.

I would give this book an 8/10 and a definite must read.

The world of affiliate marketing can be a lucrative path, and can definitely pay off big time if you stick to it.  If you want to dive into it, you’re going to definitely need a an idea, a blog,  and a lot of passion!  If you don’t have the passion to do it, you might as well forget it.  Your topic should be something you’re passionate about and something you enjoy.  It makes it easier to talk (write) about when you’re posting and answering questions.

Once you’ve got your topic you’re going to need a WEBHOST. Most web hosts will include a free domain name, so you wont have to buy one seperatly.  A great web host, that includes a free domain name is FAT COW.

The blog software you’re going to need can be found at WORDPRESS.ORG I find it’s the easiest blogging software on the net.  Install the software and start blogging!
