Then along came the Facebook Fanpage, and their LIKE button.  No longer were you “joining” groups, you now “like” the fanpage.  Along with that came the newsfeed updates.  This is a Godsend for companies.  Now when there is an update to your fanpage, the update would go to newsfeed section of ALL the people who LIKE that fanpage.  Just think about the reach it now has!  In my opinion the Facebook Fanpage is much friendlier, a lot easier to keep up to date with your interests, and A LOT less intrusive to my inbox!

Here is how to make your own fanpage.  (current as of 11 Nov, 2010)

1. At the bottom of your home page, click on the ADVERTISING LINK

2. On the Advertising page, click on the PAGES link.

3. Click on the Green, CREATE A PAGE button

4. Choose a page category and name and click on the CREATE PAGE button

5.  Add a logo and fill out the remaining information and you’re done!  Instead of just a logo, you can also put a custom fanpage sidebar, and make sure your facebook fanpage goes VIRAL!

I have a facebook fan page (Free Gifts For Filling Out Surveys) and wanted to invite my friends.  When I clicked SUGGEST TO FRIENDS i noticed that if I wanted to invite my friends, I’d have to select them, one by one.  I looked at the number of friends I had and my heart kind of sunk, haha.  So I did a little google search, and found a java script that would allow me to select ALL my friends at once and invite them to my Facebook Fan Page at once, without have to select each one by one.  It’s surprisingly easy to do, and really doesn’t require much geeky knowledge!! LOL.  So here it is, if you want to invite all your friends to your facebook fan page all at once, follow these simple instructions:

1. Go to your fan page and let it load up.

2. Click on Suggest to Friends (Third link down on the left under your fanpage profile pic)

3. Allow to load, and place the following java script in your browser address bar and press <enter>:

javascript:elms=document.getElementById('friends').getElementsByTagName('li');for(var fid in elms){if(typeof elms[fid] === 'object'){fs.click(elms[fid]);}}

4. Give it a few seconds to load, and PRESTO!  you’ve just selected all your contacts!!  Now click Send Invitations, and you’ve done it!!

I’ve tried it on Firefox 3.5.8 and it worked like a charm.  Have a try on your browser, and let everyone know which one yoou used it on, and how it worked.
